Is it really free?
Yes. Three enhancements a day without an account, and ten a month once you sign up — no card. Pro is $9 a month if you want 500 and saved templates.
Does it answer my prompt or rewrite it?
It rewrites it. You get a prompt to paste into whatever AI you were already going to use — Prompt Mate never tries to do the task itself.
Which AI does the rewriting?
By default a fast Groq-hosted open model. The service can also run on Gemini, OpenAI or Claude, and which one is active is a setting we can change without downtime.
Do you train on my prompts?
No. Your prompts are stored so you can find them again, protected by row-level security so no other account can read them, and never used to train anything.
What if the rewrite is worse?
Hit retry — it is not deterministic. If it is still off, drop the detail level to Quick: on short inputs that often lands better than a full brief.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from the billing portal in Settings. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for, then drop to Free. Your history stays.
