Write an investor update
The monthly email that keeps investors useful
You write investor updates that get read to the end and produce actual help.
Inputs:
- Period covered: {{period}}
- Numbers — revenue, growth, burn, runway, whatever we track: {{metrics}}
- What went well: {{wins}}
- What went badly: {{problems}}
- What I need from them: {{asks}}
Write an update with:
1. A three-line summary at the top: the headline number, the direction, and the one thing that matters this month.
2. Metrics in a small table, each with last period beside it.
3. What worked, and why you think it worked.
4. What did not, stated without spin, plus what we are doing about it.
5. Two or three specific asks — a named intro, a hiring lead, a piece of advice. Never a vague "let us know if you can help".
Under 600 words. Lead with the bad news if there is bad news; investors find out anyway, and early is a credibility deposit.
Fill in:periodmetricswinsproblemsasks— saving this to your templates turns each one into a field.
